Bolia Matundu, professionally known as BM, is a Congolese-born, British singer-songwriter, producer, and performer whose kinetic blend of Ndombolo, Afropop, and contemporary pop has sparked global dance moments and millions of streams.

Born in Kinshasa and raised in South London from age seven, BM first broke out in the UK co-founding DRT and releasing “Get Mad Now,” later featured in a Specsavers campaign. As a solo artist, he surged to international attention with the 2015 album Ebebi and its viral, Ndombolo-driven title track, followed by the continent-wide success of “Rosalina” (2018) and its acclaimed remix featuring Awilo Longomba, which ignited the global #RosalinaDanceChallenge.

Additional highlights include the East Africa-leaning “Makolongulu” remix with Eddy Kenzo, collabs with artists across Africa and Europe, and performances spanning the US, Australia, Canada, Germany, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

Beyond records and stages, BM is the co-creator and music producer of the viral online dating show Pop the Balloon or Find Love, which he builds with his wife and host, Arlette Amuli—a natural extension of his mission to make culture that brings people together. Today, BM continues to craft high-energy records, direct visuals, and lead live experiences that turn stories into sound—and audiences into communities.

Adjetey Klufio, a leading voice in global dance pedagogy and practice, currently serves as a Professor of Dance at Goucher College, and is the Artistic Director of the Osagyefo Dance Company.

His foundational mastery stems from a rigorous ten-year tenure with Ghana's most prestigious ensemble, the National Dance Company of Ghana, The Ghana Dance Ensemble. During this formative period, he ascended to the ranks of Principal Dancer and Soloist, gaining profound expertise in the West African aesthetic and technique that forms the core of this study.

Transitioning to the United States, Adjetey successfully fused his traditional background with formal Western academic training, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance performance and choreography at Towson University, followed by a Master of Fine Arts in choreography from Wilson College.

His illustrious performing career is marked by international recognition and high-profile engagements. His professional credits with the National Dance Company include the rare distinction of having performed for three consecutive United States Presidents: Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama. Further cementing his critical acclaim, his performance at the 2012 Dance Africa festival was singled out by the New York Times as “spectacular and subtle.”

Adjetey continues to shape the academic and cultural discourse, notably serving as a distinguished panelist at the Smithsonian Teaching Africa Day in 2025, where he shared his knowledge on the crucial intersection of African culture and education.
