Immigration Attorney Udoka Obi earned her BA from the University of Virginia in 2003, then her JD from Regent University, in 2007. She is proud to serve the Hampton Roads community with her Law Office of Udoka Obi, P.L.L.C in Newport News. As past President of the Nigerian Women's Association, Ms. Obi is ready to bring her leadership and legal skills to help strengthen the TACA organization to make a lasting impact in our community.

Dr. Moses Selorm Asamoah, Jr. is the Founder and Lead Pastor of Living Destiny Church. Originally from Ghana, he and his wife Delali have been married for 14 years and are blessed with three daughters.

Pastor Moses is a graduate of Regent University, where he earned both a Master of Divinity and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership degrees; and received his Doctorate from Fuller Theological Seminary . He is the President of Selorm Ministries, Int. and the Blackwell Institute of Leadership and Coaching. He is passionate for the Word of God, Prayer, Leadership Development and Church Planting.

He is the published author of Sweetly Broken: Understanding the Pathway to Your Divine Assignment, Thank God for Goliath: Turning a Death Sentence into a Victory Parade, and three motivational CDs in the African Folktale Series.

Todd is a native of Richmond, VA and a graduate of the University of Virginia. He has over 30 years' experience in the world of Finance, and is one half of the West-Hoffmann Investment Group of Wells Fargo Financial Advisors. 

Todd has served as past President of the Board of Directors of Portsevents, as well as on the Board of Directors of An Achieveable Dream. He has been a fervent supporter of TACA for many years, and is excited to use his expertise to help further the Mission of the organization.

Born in Lagos, Nigeria and partially raised in the UK before immigrating to Rhode Island, Natasha Ewa has her B.S. in Psychobiology from Lincoln University. She came to Virginia in 2012, where she pursued and received her Master's in social Work from Norfolk State University.

She is a licensed Clinical Social Worker, poet, and a lover of shoes [😉] . Natasha is also a breast cancer survivor who finds joy in creative measures that unify people who have more in common than they may like to think.

As a founding member of TACA and owner of I Thrive Therapy And Wellness, Natasha is excited to provide expertise on mindfulness approaches, psychological responses, data collection and feedback assessment; and to assist in the enhancement of an organization greatly needed in the Hampton Roads area.

A native of Trinidad & Tobago, Lisette Rice has made Virginia Beach her home with her husband and two daughters since 2014. Lisette received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad & Tobago.

After marrying and relocating to the United States, she received her teaching certification through the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Later, she received a Masters in Education from Walden University. With seventeen years of teaching experience, she has taught in North Carolina, Hawaii, and Virginia.

A lifelong learner, Lisette completed a post graduate program in Behavior Analysis from George Mason University and is pursuing becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She is committed to education by providing meaningful learning experiences through which individuals can make connections and be motivated to realize their personal best. 

Ghana native Dr. Gymama Slaughter, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer engineering at ODU. She is a Bioengineer with broad interests in the integration of electronics concepts with life science principles to develop innovative devices to diagnose disease and deliver drug therapy to target sites.

Much of her research is supported by multi-milion dollar grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Science Foundation, Department of Defense, Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and state programs. She is the Executive Director of ODU's Center for Bioelectronics, which focuses on the use of ultra-short, high-voltage pulse technology to treat cancer.

Dr. Slaughter is also Director of the NIH Graduate Research Training Initiative for Student Enhancement (G-RISE) at ODU, a National Institute of General Medical Sciences-funded predoctoral training program in Biomedical Research housed in the Center for Bioelectronics.

Additionally, Slaughter has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles, and is an associate editor of the IEEE Sensors Journal, published by the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.

Born in Accra, Ghana, Rita immigrated to Norfolk, VA as a child. She attended the University of VA on a full academic scholarship as an Achievement and Echols Scholar. Dancing and singing since she was a child, she graduated with a BA in Classical Music and received her Master of Music in Classical Voice Performance from the Manhattan School of Music.

After singing professionally from NY through Texas, she paused her career to focus on her two now adult children. She has fused her performing abilities, fluency in many languages, and innate fitness to become a Zumba® and African Dance instructor, teaching thousands of kids and adults in the Hampton Roads area; as well as Zumba® instructors worldwide. She has been a multi Presenter at the international Zumba Instructors Convention, where she was named Humanitarian of the Year, 2022. Check out Fitwithrita!

Ms. Addico Cohen has created several highly acclaimed avenues through which she shares her African culture with adults and children alike, using the arts, history, and language. She has created a 3 tier educational program that has placed her and TACA on the Teaching Roster of the Virginia Commission for the Arts. She is the inaugural recipient of the 2024 VA Beach National  Tourism & Travel Award for Arts & Culture.
