MEET THE ARTISTS

TACA Dance & Drumming Ensemble

Since its May 2022 début, the Dance & Drumming Ensemble of the Tidewater African Cultural Alliance has been adding authentic African Dance to events all over the Hampton Roads/Tidewater region. Known for its versatility in offering both cultural (traditional) and contemporary (Afrobeats) dance styles, they are in demand for their unique performances, full of energetic moves and vibrant costumes, that will make your heart and soul smile. 

Frank Ebang Toung Mve

MC

Gabon native Frank Ebang Toung Mve is a distinguished linguist, published author, and public speaker who is recognized for his commitment to the ‘Africa that wins’. He holds a Master's and Bachelor's  in

International Relations with a concentration in African Studies and Peacekeeping from American Public University in Charles Town, West Virginia.


Frank is a fluent speaker of Fang, his native language from Gabon, English, French, German, and Spanish.

Rosey MusiQ

Takoradi, Ghana native Rosey began writing songs at the age of 14, and recorded her first album

Genesis, in 2018. Her subsequent projects have mostly been singles,

with some featuring such award-winning artists as Carl Clottey,

Obenewa, Joyce Blessings, and Navah.


Based in Richmond, VA, she has since performed and ministered the gospel of Jesus across many platforms. Rosey is the 2025 Ghana USA Music Awards Female Artist of the Year. 


MDG

Sierra Leone native and NSU alum MDG's music is making waves as Afrobeats continues growing as a popular genre. His clothing brand Formulla motivates passionate dreamers to work hard towards their goals. His annual Formulla concert that unites the community through music and fashion.

As an independent artist, MDG has been grinding consistently by entertaining us with numerous hits. He has been featured on BET Africa, MTV Africa, and has been featured on multiple events organized by the UN. 

Nat

Born in La República de Panama and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Nat. debuts as the very first female Latin Trap artist in the 757 area. 


With a heavy influence in the Latin & LGBTQ+ communities, activating her hometown of Virginia Beach, VA, Nat.  ascends with her newest album “Latina,” bringing a powerful influence to the “new” generation in the Reggaetón scene. As one of many members of the Recording Academy, Nat. brings the heat for generations to come.

BM

Born in Kinshasa and raised in South London from age 7, BM broke out in the UK co-founding DRT and releasing “Get Mad Now,” later featured in a Specsavers campaign. As a solo artist, he surged to international attention with the 2015 album Ebebi and its viral, Ndombolo-driven title track, followed by the continent-wide success of “Rosalina” (2018) and its acclaimed remix featuring Awilo Longomba, which ignited the global #RosalinaDanceChallenge. He also produces Pop the Balloon or Find Love.
